If you’ve ever tried generating images of celebrities using AI, you’ve likely hit a frustrating roadblock. Platforms like ChatGPT or Gemeni often respond with messages like:
- “I can’t generate that image. It involves a celebrity in a distorted or exaggerated context, which isn’t allowed.”
- Or, “Can’t generate that image. Requests involving recognizable political figures in exaggerated or distorted scenarios aren’t allowed.”
These safety filters are in place to prevent misuse, but they can also block perfectly harmless creative projects. The good news is, there are ways to work around this.

I’ve successfully created many celebrity-themed AI artworks, and in this article, I’ll share several effective methods to help you do the same.

Method 1: The “Fresh Start” Approach
Let’s start with the simplest, though not always the most reliable, method.
The Strategy: Try creating a new account and using a different browser or a private/incognito window. Sometimes, new accounts have slightly different permissions or are not immediately flagged.

My Experience: This has worked for me directly on several occasions. However, it’s inconsistent, and many users report that it doesn’t solve the problem for them. It’s a quick and easy first step, but don’t rely on it as a permanent solution.
Method 2: The “Alternative Playground” Strategy
If mainstream platforms are too restrictive, simply use an AI that has more permissive policies (for now).
The Strategy: Switch to AI image generators that currently allow the creation of public figures. Two notable examples are:

A Quick Note: The image quality might not be as advanced or “spectacular” as what you’re used to with ChatGPT or Gemeni but the trade-off is a significant reduction in restrictions. The AI landscape changes rapidly, but as of now, these platforms are viable alternatives for generating known personalities.
Method 3: The “Reference Master” Technique (Most Reliable)
This is the most powerful and consistent method, and it works on platforms with robust image reference features, like Gemeni.
The Strategy: Instead of naming the celebrity in your prompt, you use an image for reference.
Here’s the step-by-step process:
- Remove the Name: In your text prompt, do not use the celebrity’s first and last name. Instead, use a generic term like “a person,” “a famous actor,” or describe their general appearance (e.g., “a man with slicked-back hair and a charismatic smile”).
- Attach a Reference Image: Upload a clear photo of the celebrity you want the AI to emulate.
- Use a Magic Phrase: Start your prompt with the phrase: “Using the attached image as a reference…” This clearly instructs the AI to use the visual data from your upload as the primary source for the character’s likeness.

By providing a visual guide, you bypass the text-based filter that blocks the celebrity’s name, allowing you to achieve the desired result.

I hope these strategies help you successfully generate the celebrity images you’re envisioning. The world of AI is always evolving, so staying adaptable is key.
