STEP 1

Go to the website aistudio.google.com or gemini.google.com

STEP 2

Upload the photo you want to restore.

STEP 3

You can use a very simple prompt, for example, “Restore this black and white photo.” However, I prefer to formulate the request more precisely.
Here is my prompt:
“Restore this into a clean, detailed, black and white DSLR-style photo.”

Click the “Run” button to generate the restored photo.

STEP 4

The new photo is ready.

Now, let’s add color to the photo. You can also use a simple prompt like “Colorize this photo,” but let’s try a more advanced one:
“Professional photo colorization: add accurate and historically plausible colors to this image.”
